Sociologist at the Laboratory of Ecosystems and Societies in Mountains (LESSEM), at the Irstea centre in Grenoble.

Isabelle Arpin is a sociologist at LESSEM, at the Irstea centre in Grenoble. She is interested in the ways of studying and managing nature in the Anthropocene and more particularly, for several years now, in the interface between science and conservation management. Her research lies at the crossroads of the sociology of the environment and the sociology of science. She has carried out numerous field investigations that account for contemporary changes in the relationship between science, nature and society.

Other functions : Isabelle Arpin is a member of the Scientific Council of the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB) and of the Scientific Committee of the FRB’s Cesab.
