“Biodiversity and climate, same fight!”

 

Behind the slogan of the FRB is the conviction that these two major issues for the planet are linked. Biodiversity is affected by climate change. Ipbes and the Giec have been strategically working together to promote a better consideration of biodiversity when developing baseline scenarios in their assessments.

 

However, the contributions that biodiversity can make to climate change mitigation and adaptation are receiving increasing attention from researchers: nature-based solutions contribute to both climate and biodiversity objectives, and cannot continue without each other.
