FRB-Cesab - Post-doc
Déborah BIRRE

Déborah Birre joined the FRB at CESAB in November 2024 as a postdoctoral researcher on the MOTIVER project. In this role, she is studying how human-driven changes to landscapes affect biodiversity in European farmlands.

She completed her PhD in Geography at the Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, where her research focused on how climate change and human activities influence the shifting upper forest boundaries in the French Pyrenees. Déborah Birre specializes in the collection and analysis of large, multi-scale datasets, employing geomatics and spatial analysis methods, along with field surveys. She developed a unique method to identify changes in the upper forest boundary and link them to the underlying ecological processes.
