Wilfried THUILLER
CNRSWilfried Thuiller is director of research at the CNRS. He is deputy director of the Alpine Ecology Laboratory.
He has several areas of research including the study of the impacts of global change on biodiversity (species, functional and phylogenetic), measuring the influence of the environment and habitat quality on the intraspecific functional characteristics of plants, understanding what makes a good invader and how to predict its potential distribution, and finally how and why species coexist together.
Wilfried Thuiller is also very interested in spatial network analyses, i.e. how ecological networks vary in space and time and why, and how they influence the functioning of ecosystems. To work on these questions, he conducts observational and experimental studies, simulation experiments, statistical analyses of empirical data, and mechanistic modelling.
